One of the parts of the house that needs special cleaning and attention in our house is the toilet according to Αποφράξεις Αντωνίου. The toilet bowl collects dirt, yellowing, dirt and many times our carelessness throwing in things that should not, gets to the point of clogging it!

There is no housewife who has not faced such a situation in her home and surely a clogged basin or a clogged toilet drain is an unpleasant situation. The blockage can come from a variety of factors but it is still something that will happen in most homes and apartments.

So it will be good to know that we disassemble the toilet bowl ourselves so as to avoid the cost of plumbing and the uncomfortable situation we are in when we do not have access to our toilet. So I will show you 6 effective ways to disassemble the toilet bowl!

Suction cup

The suction cup is probably the most common method for clogging the toilet as it is very effective and economical, as the cost is less than 5 euros and can unclog a large percentage of blockages.

It works by creating pressure from the air inside the suction cup, which is injected into the pipes and presses any objects stuck in them. With five to ten repetitions the suction cup can unclog the toilet bowl. You can get a clogging suction cup in all supermarkets and we recommend alcohol disinfection after use so as to avoid bacterial infections.

Hot water

Another well-known way to flush the toilet bowl is with hot water. This method is not as effective as the use of the suction cup but it can unblock small blockages. Put 3 to 5 liters of water in a saucepan, boil it until you see steam which means that the water is close to 100 degrees.

It is very important to let the pot cool for 2 to 3 minutes so that the water temperature drops to 70 to 80 degrees. The reason we do this is that very hot water can damage plastic pipes, especially those of older construction. Pour the water into the basin and wait for a few minutes until they soften possible objects such as baby wipes that are inside the pipes.

Detergent

In many cases we can achieve toilet flushing with dishwashing detergent. Strange as it may seem, it is possible and especially effective when the obstruction is local and comes from soft objects, such as baby wipes. All we have to do is pour about half a bottle of detergent into the basin in combination with hot water and leave it for a few minutes so that it penetrates between objects and pipes and helps them to slide.

Wire

Another way to unclog the toilet bowl is to use hard wire. This is quite an effective way, especially when the blockage comes from small objects that have accidentally fallen into the basin and are not soft, such as various plastic wrappers, etc. The wire on which the clothes are spread is ideal for this job but in this case that we do not have such we can use a wire hanger, after cutting it and straightening it with pliers. Press the wire into the basin, shaking it right and left until we find the point of obstruction.

Baking soda and vinegar

There are many commercial products but also those that we have in our house that we can use to block the toilet. What these products have in common is that they contain acids that help break down non-water soluble objects. For example, we can block the pelvis with baking soda and vinegar. Pour 150 to 200 grams of soda and about the same amount of vinegar in the toilet bowl. Leave them to act for 15 to 20 minutes and pour a pot with 3 to 5 liters of hot water as above.

Food film and adhesive tape

A very easy way to disassemble your toilet is to cover it from above with a film so that the air does not pass and to press the cistern. If you have covered the basin properly, securing the film with paper tape, then the film should swell. So you can push it and unclog your toilet. You can do this 2-4 times to be sure that you will not have to do the process again because it may not have been done correctly the first time.
